Overview
nnote (com.controllabapps.nnote) is an offline-first notes app by Controllab Apps. This Privacy Policy explains what information the app processes and how it is used.
Data stored on your device
Most of your content stays on your device, including:
- Notes, categories, highlights, and reminders
- App settings (theme, accents, preferences)
- Optional biometric lock preferences for notes
- Premium unlock status cached locally after a purchase or restore
We do not operate a mandatory nnote user account for creating notes.
Optional Google Drive backup
If you enable Google Drive backup:
- You sign in with Google
- Note data may be uploaded to your own Google Drive app-data storage so you can restore it later
- Controllab Apps does not host your note contents on a separate nnote cloud server for this backup feature
You can turn backup off and sign out at any time from Settings.
Advertising (free tier)
If you use the free version, Google AdMob may show ads and may process limited advertising data such as device identifiers, IP address, and ad interaction data. See Google’s privacy policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy
Premium users do not see ads in the app.
In-app purchases
Premium is offered as a one-time purchase through Google Play Billing (and Apple In-App Purchase where applicable). Purchase validation is handled by the store. We do not receive your full payment card details.
Notifications
If you schedule reminders, the app uses local device notifications. Reminder times and related note references are stored on your device.
Feedback
If you submit feedback from Settings, the information you provide (such as title, description, optional email, app version, and platform) is sent to our content backend so we can review and respond when needed.
Permissions we may use
Depending on features you use, the app may request:
- Internet — ads, purchases, Drive backup, and feedback
- Notifications — reminder alarms
- Biometric / device credentials — optional note lock
- Exact alarms (Android) — timely reminders when permitted by the system
Data we do not sell
We do not sell your personal information.
Children’s privacy
nnote is not directed at children under the applicable minimum age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Data security
We take reasonable steps to protect the app and related services. No method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure.
Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updates will be reflected by changing the “Last updated” date.

About the App
nnote is a notes application that lets you create and organize notes offline, with optional features such as categories, highlights, reminders, formulas, themes, Google Drive backup, and Premium unlocks.
The App is provided by Controllab Apps.
Free and Premium
- The free version may include advertisements and feature limits (for example, a limited number of categories).
- nnote Premium is available as a one-time in-app purchase and may unlock benefits such as removing ads, unlimited categories, biometric note lock, additional accent colors, templates, and PDF export, as shown in the App at the time of purchase.
- Prices are set by the store (Google Play / App Store) and may vary by region.
- Purchases are subject to the store’s payment and refund policies.
Acceptable use
You agree to use the App only for lawful purposes and not to:
- Attempt to reverse engineer, disrupt, or abuse the App or related services
- Misuse in-app billing, ads, backup, or feedback systems
- Use the App in any way that violates applicable law
Your content
You retain ownership of the notes and content you create. You are responsible for the content you store in the App and for any backups you enable.
Third-party services
The App may rely on third-party services, including:
- Google Play Billing / Apple In-App Purchase
- Google AdMob (free tier)
- Google Sign-In and Google Drive (optional backup)
- Device notification and biometric systems
Your use of those services may also be subject to their own terms and privacy policies.
Disclaimer
The App is provided on an “AS IS” and “AS AVAILABLE” basis without warranties of any kind, including uninterrupted availability, fitness for a particular purpose, or error-free operation.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Controllab Apps shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, profits, or business arising from your use of the App.
Changes to the App or Terms
We may update the App and these Terms from time to time. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
